FnxDesigner [Visual IDE] is ready for testing

FnxDesigner a Visual IDE [like Delphi or MS Visual Basic] for FnxBasic is finally ready for testing.

Yes it took an extra week from my first post about it but......
If you don`t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?
[ I think Marco has that attitude, long time for the next release ]

This is the first BETA so if you just want to complain DON`T.
If you find problems or want to be involved in the "testing" you will find my contact information and instructions in the manual.
Yes the manual is beyond junk, but for now it has some VERY important information.

Where is it? ?http://fnxdesigner.wap3.com

What is not ready / included?
MainMenu and PopUpMenu - they will need a special "designer form" [like the StatusBar] and the code is nasty [remember I am writing a program to build a program]. ?Some things like a Timer will be worse as the program fails when adding it to the Designer. ?Things you put on your form are actually part of FnxDesigner and that causes issues, like having to do the FNX_{events} because otherwise FnxDesigner would be looking for that procedure when you click the control. [not to mention the designer control does not allow modifying standard events].

What would I like back from you?
An email [in the manual] with your DFM [form file] and BAS file, with a good explanation of what messed up.
[if the error was in Declare-DCL or Code-COD or Other please use the forum to help with your programming problems]

1) For now that is FxnDesigner Crashed - darn "undocumented features".
2) FnxCompiler Failed please include or [open your \FnxBasicfnx.log] and paste the error [I need the error] and DFM file.
3) Missing Properties - I think everything is there but Delphi does not include in the DFM "defaults", and I have not tested every possible combination, so let me know which control and property was missing in the BAS file when you ran your EXE.
4).........
5) down the list is Code Completion in the Editors

If you do not check the MD5 checksum [link for what I use is in the manual] then I am not responsible for problems [malware] that might have gotten stuck in there by the "bad guys". ?I do have a good web host but anything is possible.

I hope this greatly improves your ability to use FnxBasic as the "greatest Basic Compiler!".

Marco, or anyone testing the next release, get with me so I can have FnxDesigner compatible and ready to for the next release of FnxBasic.

TP911:

When I execute the Designer, the window displayed does not include the button options line that is supposed to be under the "FILE" request window (as shown in the screenshots on your web site and in the PDF documentation.  I am unable to expand the window vertically (i.e. downward) to show the control options.  I would post an image of what I am getting, but don`t know how to insert the image into this message.

you can send me an email direct that is in the manual [don`t want to post here in case the forum gets *crawled*]

please state what you Windows system is 98/2000/xp/vista
I have built and only test on 2000 and also under WINE running on Mepis Linux.

when you start, to get the designer window you have to click the New or Open buttons on the Tool [main] window.
then the Controls and Align tabs are active

Papi,

Not a XP or OS error but a screen resolution.
I run at 1280x1024 and things things are positioned from that.

Choice here == screen center or align at right but including the screen resolution

Will get that in today, also for the Editor options.

Trey:

Following your suggestions (in your E-mail), I reset my screen resolution to 1280x1024 and font size to regular.  Under this configuration I could just barely see the tops of the control choice icons.

I then switched the resolution to 1024x768 with regular font size, and the results were very slightly better, but not much.

I am using an NVIDIA GoForce Go 7900 GS video card, and the regular (i.e. noprmal) font size is 96 DPI.

I have uploaded a new version.
I purchased a commercial designer so I don`t have to reinvent the wheel.

Lots of new features, mainly anything can be put on the form - Timer, MainMenu, PopupMenu- without me having to hand code it.

It will take a few days to finish out the designer, and the code editors and conversion to Fnx is to big deal [other than the new things that were not in the old version]

I think it is best that most discussions be email instead of on the list.
I do respect privacy, nice that next year the congress-critters will make the phone spammers quit using auto-systems, but the can pass a retroactive pay raise or other benefits in one day to benefit them.
I`ll only respond accordingly to your emails.

This is only the designer portion and if you download it use a new folder [2 changes in the INI will mess up your INI]
http://fnxdesigner.wap3.com/FnxDesigner2.exe

Also I have a Compaq Laptop I`m working on that has XP and standard settings for 1024x768 and the new version looks and works just fine.

I will be out of town at a conference from Sun 24 to Wed 27 but will not have the full development with me, although I can do some work to the code with a text editor [arghhhh] - trying to get this up before I leave
