FnxDesigner v20080823 has been rebuilt with Delphi2006 [maybe better XP support]
It has a new designer control allowing for MainMenu and Popup menu with little work on my end
MRU list with up to 10 last used projects
Includes a /glyphs folder [delphi name for bitmap] with the standard ones for Button BMP and resource
Also the /Projects folder has my test.dfm that you can load
2 buttons, label, MainMenu, PopupMenu, StatusBar
NOTE: in Delphi the default for MenuItems name is MenuItemX where x is the sequence number
well the popup created NewItem1 which is also in MainMenu and that is fine for me but FnxCompiler consider
OBJECT NewItem1 AS MenuItem to be a duplicate name from the MainMenu
just make it NewItem4 then save the code window and it will compile and run
have to figure that one out
get it from http://fnxdesigner.wap3.com and click the download [zip file]
PLEASE USE A NEW FOLDER
I will at a conference thru Wed 28 so I will not be reading email
During this time I will get some free time to work on the manual and web page [NO CODING]
Please respond to my email [in the manual] so we can keep the list clean of *beta bugs*
I`m off to the yearly 9-1-1 conference [more like vacation since using 5 weeks per year on 24x7 job is hard]

Hello,
Im using windowsXP. Last week I used the previous version of fnxdesigner in mi labtop.
Today, I downloaded the last version of fnxdesigner 20080823 and I unzipped it in a independent folder as adviced, in C:fnxdesigner.
When I try to execute the program I get a Windows warning saying that a problem has ocurred...
Looking forward for help

back from the 3 day conference and already got a lot fixed from my notes
please send me [email in the manual] with a screen shot of the the error
there is an initial message about not being able to locate FnxCompiler.exe [use the options to set it]
and while your are there set the output folder.
I think that ZIP had a copy of my INI file.
Please delete the INI and do the option changes from above.
Fixed some syntax errors the compiler did not like
Now the events will search all controls and build a drop down for that control type and you can pick from it.
Will get a new ZIP version possibly tomorrow Thu 28 Aug

Ok thanks!, I deleted the ini file and then fnxdesigner started as expected. No problem.

Really my fault for rushing to get this out.
For some unknown feature today 29 Aug, inserting any control except Label, causes a height & width of 1px.
Strange, no changes on either the work [found there] or home.
Created a simple test, no fancy stuff, and when SnapToGrid is on a 1x1 control is created but turning of SnapToGrid it is fine.
Really strange, the web download [Sun 24 Aug] works just fine with SnapToGrid ON [default] for all controls.
Biggest change was getting the "multi-add" locking to work by having Scroll Lock active then you just keep clicking to insert the current control.
Absolutely nothing changed, except fixing errors and more good stuff, [no winders update, etc] so this is going to the designer developer to figure out.
Will start a new thread when I get this current work ready, even with a "foot note" that SnapToGrid has problems.

I use both versions. One of the greatest programs I have found.because of its very light ide and abilities. Very impressed.
